Doing Without Creates ChangeFasting From The Old Way Creates A New Begining
Jesus Quote On Fasting
“When you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad disposition. For they make it known by the look on their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face with understanding, So that you do not appear to men to be changing your life, but your Heavenly Father who is in Secret will see; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”
Fasting From Old Habits
This really runs together with Jesus teaching us How To Give. When we realize that we need to make a change in our lives trying to make that change is sometimes seems impossible. Remember Jesus speaks to students in parables so fasting does not necessarily refer to things we consume into our bodies.
When linked to giving Jesus our allegiance to learn His Quotes it is imperative that we fast from the ways of old. Fasting is a good habit to learn in that it will allow a person to adapt to change easily.
Liabilities Are Our Greatest Assets
Am going to use a food example because it is something along with many other issues I am currently working on. Right now I am learning to deal with my diet because I am a few pounds over weight. The only way that a change will come about for me is through understanding and fasting from the old replacing it with new learning. People change because they learn something new in life that will cause them to alter behavior. This has happened to me in countless ways in my life. From the words I speak to what I consume. Without a doubt the most difficult part to control is the consumption of things I love to put into my body. One of the worst was cigarettes. It was a very long process to change this habit. This was a tremendous liability that turned into one of my greatest assets. This liability taught me a tremendous amount about God and how He works in my life by using the quotes of Jesus.
God’s Judgement Regarding Fasting
One of my many realizations was realized in the judgement of God, that the more I did something the harder it would be to change. But that by being a student of the reality of cigarettes through observation, I was able to overcome the need for a cigarette. It involved fasting in several areas of my life. By limiting the amount I smoked to fasting from daily frustrations. These principles of Jesus apply to everything. I use this as an example but His principles are applicable to all problems that we experience in life.
Fasting In Private
Fasting is an individual act when combined with the other principles of Jesus we are able to overcome many of our own disabilities. When we embrace the principle of cause and effect the rewards become visible. Fasting is stopping the old and replacing it with new. What is it Jesus said, “You cannot put new wine into old bottles.” We have to make new containers and there are many parts to the container.
